00:04 Evening, everyone. Tonight on the UK Brief, Europe's migration crisis has reached the turning point. In just 48 hours, an estimated 60,000 people cross from Morocco into the Spanish enclave of Ceuta in what is called the biggest breach of a European border in modern times. We'll take you there with a photographer who traveled straight into the middle of the chaos. 00:27 It was actually like a scene out of a film to be honest. I turned up just after the peak but still thousands of men were coming over the border. It very much felt like what you'd expect. The only thing that was missing was weapons. 00:39 Then to Barcelona where one local politician says his city has become a warning for the rest of Europe. 00:47 Spain's prime example of the failure of open-border policies. 00:51 And finally, to the UK, where the battle for the political right has exploded. Rupert Lowe has offered Nigel Farage a deal to unite the Conservative vote. But will Farage take it? Let's get into it. Aidan, I think the whole world looked on in absolute shock to those images and what happened afterwards. You were there. What was it like? 01:15 It was actually like a scene out of a film, to be honest. I turned up just after the peak, to be honest, but still thousands of men were coming over the border. It was literally like that, out of some of those films, you see, it was... I don't like to use the word invasion, but it very much felt like what you'd expect. The only thing was missing was weapons, in all honesty. 01:39 If they had guns in their hand, it would have been a full-scale invasion. The numbers were phenomenal that I saw on the first day. 01:48 And I think the media are telling a little bit of porkies on the fact that they think they've gone. They haven't. They're just fighting. They're everywhere. 01:59 and all they're showing is them walking back through the border. And yes, they are being walked through and guided through by the army. But if they actually had the bravery to walk up to the villages, the villages are just strewn with people asleep everywhere. In the cemeteries I walked through, there's a beautiful hillside cemetery. 02:21 And it was just, it was literally, I thought I was seeing things. It was just littered with people lying down going to the toilet, sleeping, just all over a cemetery. It was absolutely madness. 02:35 There'd been this trickle ride and then just boom. There was just this explosion, this mayhem, this crazed mob. 02:48 And again, women, children, families, the whole lot. 02:55 Yeah, from what I saw, it was actually, to be fair, mainly young men, 18 to kind of 30 years old. Difficult to gauge them because when you ask them, they pause too long with their age, which kind of gives away that they're trying to do maths. 03:10 But they all looked 25, 30 kind of age. But mainly what I saw was men, a few women, but the women that I saw when I interviewed them, they actually said were actually just here... almost for a day out. They'd seen it online and they just thought, we'll come and have a day out. We'd never been here before. 03:29 But the men that stayed were the ones, as usual, at any protest or riot or event. The ones that stay behind are the ones you worry about. They're the ones that are committed and they want to do things in the dark that you're not allowed to do in the light. 03:45 And they broke into houses, abandoned houses. All the locals were out in the streets. 03:52 I don't want to use the word vigilantes, but it was like a neighborhood watch with weapons. 03:57 The guys were carrying around large spanners, baseball bats, iron bars. And as soon as you walked on the street, they'd confront you and ask who you were. And they just said, we're just here to protect the town because the army only cared about the rich areas. 04:13 It's such a small place and you walk about a mile down the road and you're in a beautiful, beautiful town with incredible architecture. And then a mile down the road near the border, it's without being rude to them, it's a very poor area, very built up. It feels a bit like Brazil in that area. It's very steep, thousands of apartments. And there was only like two or three army vehicles in that whole area. 04:40 Whereas you go to the town and it was just mitted with army and police. 04:47 So Spain says that they've all been sent back up and you seriously doubt that, you think that they're hiding. 04:53 What does come next, do you think, given there are still tens of thousands, right? 05:01 Yeah, they're all still hiding, but from what I saw and what I heard, they are planning, and I think they actually started last night, to come across in boats to the mainland. And I think there was two or three boats last night. There was footage of them arriving, if I'm correct. 05:20 When I spoke to a few of them, I said to them, what are you planning on doing here? Where are you planning to go? And they said, we're just going to steal a boat and go to the mainland. 05:29 And obviously with its vicinity to the water, there's so many boats and harbours. 05:34 They could literally... I went to the harbour and I thought, actually, it would be quite easy just to jump the fence and get on a boat. It would be incredibly easy. 05:44 So that's the worry for Spain. 05:46 Right, I was going to say, does it look organised? Yes. 05:52 No, probably thankfully, in reality, if they were organized, there'd be real trouble. There's no guidance. It's just that... 06:01 The only benefit is that they had no logistics. They had no food, no water. So when they ran out of food and water, they just went back, a lot of them. I think they just ran out of energy. 06:11 But like at the cemetery, I said to them, why are you here? And they said, there's water, obviously, for the gardens and for the flowers. So they were using the water taps in the cemetery to get water. 06:23 But they are now starting to make further north towards the outskirts of the towns, and that's where the boats are. So in my opinion, I think in the next few days, we're going to see a surge of, like France, to England, the small dinghies and the boats. I think you'll see a surge of boats coming across. 06:44 You've spent a lot of time watching that movement from France to Britain as well, right? And the patrols don't seem to have been doing much from the French side of things. I mean, I think they're happy to throw a bill across to the UK. But, you know, what kind of things are you seeing there and do you think that's going to stop? 07:03 In France, no. The only thing stopping the invasion of Britain is the weather. That's the truth. We need to, in England, take responsibility and turn the tap off. Stop the benefits, stop being nice, treat the people respectfully, but just they need to be detained, documented and deported. and send a bill to France for every single one. That's my opinion. You've allowed this to happen. They watch them come in. I watch them all the time, guide them. They could stop them in the towns. 07:35 They could stop them on the beach. 07:37 I've encountered 15 or 20 examples of them just walking them to the sea in life jackets. They're so in intent. Who walks through Calais wearing a life jacket? 07:53 There was 50 of them walking down, and I was tracking them to where they were going, and the police pulled up in the car, jumped out, and asked me for ID. 08:05 And I said, okay, that's fine, that's law in France, and I quite agree with it, you should carry ID, should prove who you are to a certain extent. I said, why did you pull me over? They said, you look weird. 08:17 And I kind of looked around and went, the 50 people wearing life jackets, that's quite scary. You know, you kind of think there's going to be a flood. 08:25 You know, if you saw 50 people in life jackets in your town, you'd think they knew something you didn't know. 08:30 Oh my God, it's farcical. It's like Fawlty Towers, the French edition. 08:37 I must have been stopped. 08:39 I don't know, I haven't counted 40 or 50 times now by the gendarmes, and sometimes twice in the one day from the same people. 08:46 And I look at them and go, you've seen me. You saw me in the dark on the beach three or four hours ago. Why are you asking me again? All they care about is not being filmed, the army. They don't want to be filmed not doing their jobs. 09:03 But they're not doing anything. We need to stop paying because there's no use. 09:10 I know 750 million, it's a drop in the ocean for a government, but we're just wasting money. We are literally just giving your children your credit card. 09:20 They're just going to rack up an enormous bill, as children would do, and they don't care. 09:26 No, but it's heading Britain, it's heading the UK's way, right? I don't know that there's certainly not going to be any significant change from a government perspective from what you can see on the ground. 09:36 Yeah, absolutely not, no. It's actually a very simple thing to fix, because we do have water between us. 09:44 We're lucky that way. Whereas, I'll be honest, I feel for France, for Spain, for Germany. They have massive borders, and you can just walk across them. Whereas we're lucky we do have a stretch of water protecting us. 09:58 You know, we need to be firm, fair, and just return them. Nobody wants these people harmed. Just don't... I spend more time telling them, when I speak to the migrants and interview them, I just say to them, you do realise England's a don't. 10:13 It's a mess. We're in trouble. And that's not because I'm trying to stop them. I'm not blaming them for the trouble. The truth is, England is in a lot of trouble, isn't it? Nobody can deny we're in trouble. The whole world is on the edge of issues everywhere. But if you're thinking you're coming here for the golden ticket, you're deluded. They've been sold a lie. 10:37 And I do feel for them, especially when you see women and children and babies. I interviewed a woman in the sea, and she's got a four-month-old in her arms. 10:46 And I said to her, I don't want you in England. I'll be honest, I don't want you in England. You are a negative to our economy. You know, you've got a baby. I think she's pregnant as well. So she's got two babies. She'll have two babies. No job. And she'll be a negative for 18, 20 years. 11:03 I don't want any harm to her. And I said, you could die, Crossing. 11:07 You know, and then, I think two weeks before, one of the women that got guided to the beach by the gendarme, they actually walked them down. They were counting them, laughing and taking selfies. They walked them to the beach. 11:19 In the footage that I got, 100, 200 meters, they walked past them. Wow. I was walking with the gendarme. And then one of those women on the boat died. 11:29 She didn't make it. And it's always the women that don't make it, for some reason. The men never die on the boat. Yeah. 11:37 One of those women now, I think a man's been arrested for it, so she's not died of natural causes. 11:43 Oh, my God. There are serious consequences. And these people, when you meet them, the vast majority are nice. They are actually nice people. They wanted a better life. But England is not... 11:59 an open border place. We don't have the space. We don't have the money. 12:04 Even in mainland Spain, there's tons of space. 12:09 You drive around England, there's no space. We don't have it. Stay in Spain, stay in France. Incredible. 13:11 We talk about people who don't have our values. 13:17 Gonzalo, what was it like for you to be in Barcelona and watching the events unfold towards the end of last week? 13:27 Okay, Barcelona is a wonderful city, but it was governed by the irresponsible left-wing politicians for too long time. 13:37 Really, this is not a problem only in Barcelona. It's a problem for all Spain and it is an European problem. 13:45 However, we can say that Barcelona is Spain's prime example of the failure of open border policies. 13:54 And the knife to Buddhism, in Spanish we say buenismo, everybody's good, all is good, all is perfect. And this idea is prevalent among the political class and claims that everyone has the right to come to Europe to fulfill their dream. And it sounds good, but it is a very dangerous message. 14:20 In recent years, the message has been that all Africa could feed inside Spain. And this message has been the strongest in Barcelona. This is the reason that Barcelona has gone from being a very safe city to being the most dangerous city nowadays in Spain and the second most dangerous city in Europe. 14:40 So, today, walking through certain neighborhoods in Barcelona is dangerous, not only at night, also during the day, depending on the area, you know. And very tourist suffer thieves, reveries, violent margins daily in tourist areas, which are precisely... 14:59 where the police presence is highest. So we see it constantly on social media and police officers tell us they cannot do their jobs because the orders of the measure of Barcelona is not to act against illegal immigrants. Furthermore, the laws... Tell me, tell me. 15:23 You know, your prime minister has said some pretty interesting things about all of this. He's very socialist, basically saying we can close the borders and be poor or we can keep them open and be rich. I mean, how do you feel about that, your prime minister? 15:42 My prime minister, the day we were suffering the invasion of Ceuta, he put in Instagram his playlist for this summer. 15:55 He's a person who doesn't... 15:59 I think he's not very mentally helped, no? 16:04 I think he's a person who he knows. 16:09 People doesn't want him. 16:13 He's the worst leader in the history of Spain, really. 16:17 Spaniards don't vote for him. 16:19 and don't want him. And he knows. And he can't go out in the street without being shot and insulted. So he represents the worst face of the radical left in Europe. His allies are dictatorships like Cuba, Venezuela, China, Iran. 16:39 And he's always managed to divide the Spanish society Constantly talking about the civil war we suffered 90 years ago, a war that our grandparents decided to forbid, to forget, and forgive each other for. And he needs tension and division to stay in power. He's a very dangerous guy. 17:05 Well, you know, when everyone else is closing there or trying to close their doors and Spain has them open, it makes things very difficult at home. And look, I love Barcelona and I love Spain. 17:18 And I wonder what's going to happen to Spain now. 17:24 The situation is very difficult because we have a president, a prime minister who... 17:33 is trying to change the Spanish society. 17:39 He's trying to replace the Spanish society for African society. And this is very dangerous because they have, they don't have our values. They don't have our education. They don't have our way to see their lives. So Europe and Africa are very near physically, but very far away in values. 18:05 And the future for the Spanish people I really worry about too. It's such a great country. What happens in the future now? 18:15 The future is difficult because... 18:19 Some years ago, when Spain needed immigration, for many years, we preferred to come Latin American immigration because they speak the same language, they have the same religion, and a similar culture. And normally, these people who came from Latin America normally, generally, adapted very good. Then the second generation, the children, today, they feel the Spanish. The problem with African immigration is they never feel European. We see in France, people from three generations, they don't feel French. 18:52 They feel from Morocco, from Argelia. The most immigration is very difficult. It's very different. They will never feel Spanish. We've seen, repeat, in Belgium and France and other countries. And this is, in my opinion, this is the... 19:09 The biggest problem, no? These people who don't want to feel Spanish. So we are making a generation of people who hates his country, his country in a passage that they feel from their conflicts. 19:26 Gonzalo, thank you so much for talking with me. They were entering houses. They were blowing up cars, all right? And we've seen attacks in the street from Moroccans on Spaniards. I mean, how terrifying must it be if you lived in that Spanish enclave? I couldn't even imagine, you know? And they were climbing up drainpipes to get into people's windows. This was an invading army, and the left can play it down as much as they want, mate. We've seen the footage. We've seen the behavior. 21:25 Now, even last night, before I went to bed, I come back from GB News and I'm seeing videos online, live from Soweta, of basically armies of them still there. We're told they went home. 21:38 And yet, people on the ground, I know people that are out there that have gone out to report on it, saying that these Moroccans are hiding in back streets. And then last night we see, you know, a good few hundred marching down the street shouting Allah Akbar. Now, that is an act of... 21:57 intimidation. They know exactly what they're doing. And if I was a resident there and my family were there, I'd be out straight away because the safety of your family is paramount, right? And these men obviously are a danger. Now, it's the same as the migrants we're getting coming over from the beaches in France. 22:18 The crime rates are off the chart with some of these men. And I went to one of these stand up to racism protests on Saturday. There weren't very many of them. But these people are so indoctrinated. The very few that wanted to talk to me have no idea of the dangers of importing men. You don't know their backgrounds. Their cultures are so different. And, you know, a lot of these anti-racism campaigners, there was not one person of colour between them. 22:49 So these are middle-class, posh white people that are virtual signalling, pretending that they're against racism when they're just... You know, far left activists, Carl. I mean, the brainwashing is off the charts, mate. It's off the charts. 23:06 I saw that you'd been called a few names as well. I always find it amusing how you handle that criticism. 23:13 But, I mean, that just goes to show what kind of environment we are living in, what you're living in at the moment. 23:20 Well, I'm getting called by these people. It's a mental illness. How you can look at anything that I put out there and say that I'm a Nazi or I'm racist is off the charts. And, you know, I say this, I laugh when I get called a racist. If you looked at my friendship group, You know, you couldn't be more wrong. It's not about the colour of someone's skin. But anyone with a brain knows that you do not import someone from Afghanistan, maybe in the hills of Afghanistan, that's never seen a white woman before, never seen a woman... 24:14 uncovered uh dump them in a community and think that that's a safe thing to do and that is why many statistics are showing you know afghans could be up to 20 times more likely to sexually assault or rape in the uk we've we've got the figures they're freedom of information figures um from the ministry of justice We've seen British Transport Police data as well, Kyle, that shows that foreign men, I think it's 37% of sexual attacks on the train system in the UK are foreign men. 24:51 So we have cultural differences. A lot of these men do not know how to behave themselves with women, especially when they come to a country like the UK, maybe blonde hair that they've never seen before, short skirts. Look, I've had it. I'm known... 25:07 in the UK a lot of the time, for being at the Bell Hotel. I spoke to you about it. Protesting outside a migrant hotel. It blew up last year because I highlighted that one of these migrant men, I think he was from Ethiopia... within eight days sexually assaulted a school girl in epping they was going up and down the high road and they was just harassing 14 15 year old girls i know that because my two nieces go to the same school so i get told parents message me carl and say oh my my daughter was in epping and one of these said something really disgusting to her those are the sort of men we're importing And the left just, they brush it off because it doesn't affect them. 25:53 And the MPs, our members of parliament, our politicians, this doesn't affect them. So they watch someone like me on my YouTube or on GB News and go, why is he making such a thing of this? Oh, he's trying to get clicks. No, I'm not. I am petrified for my two daughters. My son's 17. He'd be able to look after himself. But I really worry that I'm not around for whatever reason. And my two daughters have got to live in these areas where we've got dangerous foreign men like prowling. 26:25 And that's the word. They prowl, Carl. 26:28 You know, Adam, I think the world of you and I want my audience to know and anyone listening that you are the genuine article. 26:37 And I feel the same way. I've got two daughters. I've got a daughter who lives in London and I worry endlessly about her on the streets of London now. And, you know, she's a smart, responsible young woman, but, you know, you don't have to go too far out of that main bit of London to get a little nervous. And I feel nervous for her. I just, you know, she's on the other side of the world and I'm like you, I'm a protective dad, but I just see everything going on and going, oh, shit. If ever she has a problem here, she's got someone to ring if she needs. But it's worrying because we have Sadiq Khan, our mayor, trying to gaslight the public to say how safe London is. We are the phone snatch capital of Europe. There is a sex crime, a rape actually, not just a sex crime, a rape recorded every 54 minutes in London. So, you know, I know as a father why you're worried. 27:37 That's just reported, by the way. We also know that rape is very much under-reported. Most are not reported. So that just shows you the extent of what London is about now. I work in London three times a week and it is not safe. I come home on the train last night from recording at like 12 o'clock. On certain lines, I'm the only English person there. And I'm not talking about the colour of the skin, but I'm talking about listening to people talk. It's just a different world here now. 28:09 And this has been a lot of successive governments. 28:12 And a lot of this has happened through legal immigration, you know, giving visas to people we shouldn't have been given visas to. We found recently that there's been it's been uncovered that sort of kebab shops have been allowed to give skilled worker visas out. Now, we all know you don't have to be skilled to be a kebab shop worker. That's not putting these workers down, but it's not a criteria that you should be able to come to a country like Britain and get, you know, vape shops, chicken shops. 28:43 They're giving out visas, skilled worker visas. How? And that is a failure of government. That is a failure of our civil service. And unfortunately, our civil service is made up of people that don't think like me and you. You know, they don't live in the real world and they don't see a problem with immigration. And it's a clear problem. It really is. 29:07 Hey, what about the $8,000 the French government is charging the UK? I mean, to send these people back. 29:17 I'm like... 29:18 Hello. What is going on? Thank God. I mean, I saw too today this Rupert Lowe, who I have great respect for, reaching out to Nigel Farage. I mean, I hope they can pull that together. And I think, you know, right side of politics everywhere are going to need to do that to come together, have a real come to Jesus moment and then go after Labor everywhere because otherwise it probably won't get done. Do you think that's a match that can stay together? No. 29:47 No, it's not. Unfortunately, you know, I've got so many WhatsApp messages and text messages yesterday. Oh, this is a great thing. This is this. And unfortunately, it's people that don't really follow politics that closely. So it sounds amazing. Oh, Rupert Lowe has got a great following online, you know. they're getting maybe five to seven percent in a by-election or a mayor election and people are getting carried away i've known Rupert on and off you know we're not friends but i've spoke to him on and off especially online since 2019 and the covid sort of episodes and he's a nice guy he really is but there's people in the UK that think he could be the prime minister. 30:32 It's impossible. Okay. Restore haven't got that support. And obviously there's a lot that's gone on, but this was a very, very clever move from Rupert because it puts all the onus on reform. Oh, do you accept our offer? It's not an offer. It's a set of demands. Okay. And again, I'm not putting down Restore UK or Rupert because I have a lot of respect. Him as an MP is what MPs should do. He asks so many questions, he puts the pressure on. He's a great MP. 31:03 But... 31:05 It's a no win for Nigel here. Restore, it's like, how can I put it? If you follow the football, it's like a Premier League club doing a deal with a second division club and everyone going, you're mad, why are you not merging? You know, people don't understand. Reform UK have got something like two and a half thousand counsellors They've got straight teams in every town. They are a political giant now. They led 200-plus polls. Yes, Andy Burnham's had a bit of a bounce here. 31:35 I would put that down to more people's sign of relief that Keir Starmer's gone. Last time I spoke to you, as I said, once he goes, Labour will get a bounce because he was the most hated prime minister in my history, okay, in my lifetime. But reform, it's going to be reform or Labour at the next election. What have they got, you know, to gain by going, okay, we get rid of those cabinet ministers. We do what you say, Rupert. Why would you do that for maybe 5%? 32:07 And the 5% or 7% that follow Restore... 32:11 It's not guaranteed that they would vote for reform if there was a deal done anyway. One thing I will say, Rupert's seat is safe. He's going to be MP for as long as he wants to be an MP. But if you look at the data out there, Restore UK can't win another constituency. They can't get another MP seat. So I don't understand what people are thinking here, that if they merge the right as one. More than likely, what's going to happen if... let's say hypothetically Restore get bigger and grow by the next election, is that in a handful of constituencies, if Restore looked like it's them or Labour, I would hope that reform would say, you know what, we're going to step aside here because you've got more chance of winning that. 33:00 I can't see many areas where that would happen. So that's the sort of deals that you want to happen. And I hope that would happen with the Tories because people need to... 33:10 unite on the right but elections are won from the centre voters that's a fact people might not like it they're not won from the right and further right they're won from the centre and what I try and tell people is Nigel Farage I sit with these people I've spoke with him I speak to Lee Anderson Reform MPs. They're not going to say things that are too shocking. Oh, yeah, we're going to do this, going to do that, because they might scare the centre. You want the Tory voters to lend their votes to you. 33:42 It's going to be reform or labour. And people need to realise that it's not one from the right, it's one from the centre, Carl. And they have to be careful of what they say, because if you say certain things, There are older people that traditionally voted conservative that go, that's too much for me. I'm out. 34:04 So it's like war gaming, you know, but I can't see there being a pact here. I'd like them to maybe get together and show the right that there's no hard feelings now, that differences can be put aside. But as a merger, it's not going to happen, mate. 34:24 I love your analysis. You made me laugh hardly. I mean, it's a very serious thing. I mean, the idea of them all getting together and doing the Kumbaya, I mean, I can see all the reaction over there on Instagram and various people. I mean, we all know that the Tories have got massive dramas. I mean, I don't even know where they kind of... how they get, I mean, they must wake up in the morning and go, where are we going to sit on anything? 34:50 I don't know anyone that would vote Tory. Now, I was a Tory voter up until 2019. Okay. And I'm so disappointed that now you look back and see how much they lie to us. Politicians lie. And look, reform, I've got friends within reform all the way up to the top. And people need to realise that no government is your friend. I think we can agree on that.
